Glass Spigot Railing Systems

Glass spigot railing systems can be used for indoor and outdoor installations, including staircases, decks, balconies, and patios. These glass railing systems allow large expanses of tempered or laminated glass to be used as a railing with an elegant, minimalist look. For each glass piece, 2 spigots are installed surface mount. It is recommended to use 3/8 to 9/16 tempered or laminated glass. You can do completely frameless glass railings and then add a handrail on the stair portion in order to meet code requirements or instead add a handrail or cap rail on top of the glass.

Tempered glass is produced by heating and cooling panels inside a tempering furnace. If it does shatter, the pieces are larger chunks, preventing sharp edges.

On the other hand, laminated glass is comprised of a vinyl interlayer sandwiched between two or more layers of glass, similar to a car's windshield. If it does break, the pieces will stay together.
